Does McAllen Careers Institute have a student tuition plan?
Yes. We offer individual student payment plans. A McAllen Careers Institute Financial Representative will be available to schedule an appointment and meet with you to discuss payment options available.
What are the Admissions Requirements?
A High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred but NOT MANDATORY.
What are the Age Requirements?
Students must be 17 years of age by the time of course completion. Students must show proof of age by providing a picture I.D.; such as a Driver’s License, School I.D, or State I.D.
Is Career Service Assistance offered?
McAllen Careers Institute has a full time Career Services Administrator that will assist you with job placement opportunities; however, job placement cannot be guaranteed.
The Career Services Department offers the following:
- Assist students prepare a Resume
- Prepare students with Job Interview Skills
- Gather Job Preference Data on every student
- Assist students with job application submissions
McAllen Careers Institute is in constant contact with potential industry employers. The Career Services Department and Industry Employers work together in an effort to match job requirements with the students in training. If an Employer calls McAllen Careers Institute seeking welders or pipefitters we will recommend the best available graduates for the positions.
Does McAllen Careers Institute offer Financial Aid?

What are the age requirements to enroll for the welding course? Are most of the students taking the course in their twenties? Will I be the only student who is older?
All ages are welcome and encourged to apply. A wide variety of age groups are represented in every class. Keep in mind no one is ever too young or too old to begin training in the field of their choice. Skill and training is necessary in order to secure a position that will provide you successful welding career.

What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, check payments, money orders, and credit cards are accepted.

What action is taken if a check payment is returned by the Bank for Non-Payment?
A $35.00 Processing Fee will be charged to the student for checks returned by the Bank for any reason.
