Online research is a convenient way to become familiar with what a school can academically provide. However, an onsite campus tour will give you a more comprehensive overview of the school’s course program, staff, and facilities. During the campus tour, an admissions representative will be available to discuss admission requirements and the enrolling process. McAllen Careers Institute can help students apply for grants through Texas Workforce Solutions Program. Students active in military, active military family members, and veterans, can qualify to receive benefits under the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Educational Programs. We currently accept the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill. Applying and qualifying for these programs will be a step towards achieving your goal of attaining a welding certification.
Our Acceptance Process
McAllen Careers Institute has an open admissions policy. Applicants must be a minimum of 17 years with a desire to weld. Our courses are the groundwork to train and prepare students to enter a profession they will find challenging and productive. A high school diploma is not required. However, it is recommended that students have the fundamental academic knowledge of math and reading comprehension, but it is not required.
